(An-Nazi'ath) 79 : 1
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ وَالنَّازِعَاتِ غَرْقًا

By those who drag forth the Spirit of the evil persons when it reaches the throat.

It is sworn by the Angels who rudely draw out the Rooh of disbelievers at the time of death. The Fujjar—true disbelievers as mentioned in verses 4: 150-151—have read in the Arabic Qur’an verses 4: 17-18, which say that when the Spirit reaches the throat, no repentance will be accepted. As explained in verses 10: 90-92, when Pharaoh was about to drown and his Spirit reached his throat, he said, “I believed that indeed, there is no Deity except the One whom the Children of Israel believed, and I am one among those who submitted wholly to the Lord.” Then Allah said: “Ah, is it now!? Verily, you disobeyed before, and you were among the mischief-makers. Today We will save your body so that it may be a sign for the successors; indeed, many among the people are heedless of Our signs.” See explanation 6: 93-94; 7: 37; and 32: 11.
